Looking for suggestions for my Crescent
 

Someone before me installed a Campy NR fd which I am keeping on the bike. The cable runs through a Campy dt cable guide but it wraps around the seat tube since the guide isn't long enough. I tried using a dt cable stop instead, and then using some cable housing but realized that the fd does not have a cable stop so that won't work. The only thing I can think of is using a bb cable guide but there are no holes there for the screw. Any suggestions?

Your guide is incorrectly positioned. Slide it all the way down as far as it will go.

I would just move the guide farther down the tube.

That's the first thing I tried but it's still too short to carry it to the rear of the tube, so it has to wrap around against the tube.

The current photo suggests you are close and the guide is far too high on the downtube. There is a small foot on the guide that should actually rest on the BB shell. Please take a photo of the cable with the guide properly positioned, as given the current evidence it is difficult to believe that that is not the solution to your problem.

However, I have drilled and threaded holes in bottom bracket shells to install cable guides in the past. This is a solution for a rider, but if you seek to keep this in its unaltered classic form I agree other solutions must be found.

+1 Yeah, slide it all the way down. The only way this won't work is on the rare occasions that there a some long point on the BB shell.

Also, can't quite see your front derailleur, but the from that photo, it appears that the position and angle is off.

You can't use an underneath BB guide with a bike set up for a top mount. The chainstay stop is in the wrong place.

I slid it all the way down on to the lug as you all suggested and it's ok now. It misses the tube by a hair but it will work. Thank you all for your help.https://i.imgur.com/2W2j6qu.jpg

You could use a "floating" piece of cable liner and or rub spot tape as a backstop. ;)
