Westwood rims
I'm curious if anyone here has tried tires on Westwood profile rims that are more supple than the typical tires that get put on older 3-speeds. My ANT roadster, which is built up with a heavy influence from my 1937 Raleigh, has a pair of 700C aluminum Westwood-profile rims, and I'm playing with the idea of replacing the current Schwalbe Century tires with Panaracer T-Servs in the same size (700x35).
My concern primarily has to do with the width of the rim: https://www.ryde.nl/images/news/m366...01_32.png?3299 The Schwalbes, nominally 700x35/37-622, measure at 39mm wide and about 33mm tall on these rims, and I typically have them in the 50-60psi range. Those tires are pretty heavy, though, so I was thinking some lighter tires might be worth a try. |
