OG PX-10 Wheels - Keep or Sell?
Hi,
I took this pair of original Tubular wheels off my PX-10, with Super Champion rims, High-Flange Normandy hubs and everything. Trued and the hubs are in good condition. img_20180419_192112.jpg
I was thinking about replacing the tubs and saving them for Weekends, but never got around to the hassle of doing it. So, I was wondering if it's a good idea to keep them, and just hang them on the wall, or sell them and have someone get some use out of it. If so, how much should I charge?

I have mine hanging up, but they are campagnolo hubs and one of the tubulars has a gash in it... they are really nice ones so I haven't got around to replacing the cut tire. I built a clincher set and it's got really nice tires on it so I have little reason to keep the tubs but they did ride really nice. I wish I'd have taped mine on instead of gluing them but the gluing wasn't really as bad as some folks make it out to be, I just took my time and was careful, never ended up stuck to anything.

Id clean them up as much as possible and see how they turn out. If they clean up nicely if keep them.
If not sell them for a decent price. Is sell for $80 or so. But that's just me since I dont use tubbies.

If you sell them, consider that the skewers are something I paid close to $100 to get for my PX-10. They're not easy to find in good shape with the rubber covers intact, and I had to purchase a set of replacement wing-nuts. The wheels with the skewers should fetch $125 or more.

I would keep them with the bike. Clean them up and hang them on the wall. Eventually you may want to try them again.

Don't discard or sell those wheels! There may come a time when you wish you had them and, who knows, that time might be now...
I have built up two PX10 bicycles, the first with clinchers...
,,,the second X10 with original issue tubulars...
For ride quality, the tubulars win, in my opinion. Also, you just might want to switch hoops out, now and again. And, should you ever decide to pass the bike on, having all of the original equipment is a definite plus.

IMO you should keep those wheels with the bike. By all means, get a set of clinchers if you want, but you will diminish the bike if you let the wheels go.

Keep 'em. I've passed on many a bike purchase because the original wheels weren't there. (To be fair, there are also plenty I've bought anyway.) But there will probably come a day sooner or later where you regret selling them if you do.
As stated above, rebuilding the wheels with clinchers seems like the way to go here.

Not many people want to ride tubulars, so they sell cheap when used. That's a reason to keep them and ride them if you like riding them. Then again, you could sell them and if you later you wish you had them, you could buy them cheap. So it really doesn't matter what you do.

To many racers wheels appear to be wear items. I seldom find old racing bikes with the original wheels, and finding a correct pair is a hassle.
Keep them, would be my advice.

Set of original PX-10 tubular wheels with the Simplex skewers, black wing nuts, spokes, Mavic rims, Normandy hubs, Regina freewheel- trued & good used condition- $250.
I just bought a NOS pair of Mavic rims (just the rims) from France for $99.
