Looking for a painter!
 

Hi all,

I guess nobody has asked this question before :) but I am looking for a painter to do a nice job on a 1948 Stallard Montherly. I'll post pics of the bike later once I get it cleaned up. I am in Utah but can work with west coast painters. I have used Joe Bell in the past and was pleased with his work but he kind of broke the bank, it also took 6 months to get the finished item. Looking for some recommendations of someone you have used that is reasonable, timely and trustworthy. Thanks in advance!

Wet paint, good, will cost you. Powder coat can be had for a much more reasonable price. What color are you wanting? A deep, rich red, for example, will look much nicer as paint. Some other colors are less distinguishable between powder and paint.

Not West coast, but Al Wanta in Florida has always done well by me. Also have seen very nice work out of Franklin Frames in Ohio. Both of those folks work at reasonable prices, IMO.

I recommend Franklin Frame in Ohio. Very reasonable pricing. But his pace of work may not be to your standards. However you will not be disappointed.

Nice, those are reasonable and straightforward prices in the repaint section. :thumb:

Whomever you pick to do the work, be sure to get it settled, up front, EXACTLY what you want the bike to look like when it comes back; colors, which infills get painted, etc... Do a good job packing, and tell them you expect the bike to be shipped back packed like you sent it them. No joke, it's important, BTDT.

Never, never rush the painter.
