Probably the same for others including Colnago, Cinelli, Olmo, etc ??
This is ofcourse assuming true wheels

I have an '86 Gran Criterium, and it fits Challenge PR 27s no problem. I can measure tire clearance tonight.

Those bikes we designed for sew-ups which were much larger then the narrow clinchers of the 90's and 2000's. I think I can fit a 28 on my 82 Merckx though it has 25c currently.

My 1987 Masi Nuova Strada has Araya rims that are 700c low aero
I want to save the very nice Wolber SL 19 Cotton 700 x 20 tires since they are for show bikes and I have some good 28 tires that have yellow strip that will match well with the yellow decals.
Only holdup is that I dont have tubes for these 28 tires yet

Size, Model and year provide changes.
I have a small one that for the rear, a 25mm tire is all, brake bridge sets the absolute limit. Front about the same but with a bit more Room, GC model.
The others 27mm would be the comfortable limit. One Prestige can accept 28mm training touring clincher with deep tread, no wider though.
the 1981 and 1983 bikes accept 28's, but I really would not want to try to fit a 30mm.
If you want bigger than 28's, think mid 70's or 60's. The early GC's have forks that really should have short reach calipers fitted.

Stick in some wheels (with tires on them), grab some allen wrenches, and use them as feeler gauges to see how much clearance you have to the frame and brakes. Say they're 20mm tires and you can slip a 4mm in between the top of a tire and the brake caliper, so you can probably go to 23mm but not 25mm, y'know?
