Axle Cone Dust Shields

Working on a classic and found that the axle I bought is missing a wheel hub dust cap. I've looked at a lot of online shops, like Amazon, Niagara, Bike Tools Etc., but haven't found anything like a kit out of stock on Bike Tools Etc. that would give me plenty 9mm, 3/8, and 10mm axles, cones, dust shields, and lock nuts. Would prefer to buy a kit rather than individual pieces.

In a similar situation, I've used a scrounged slightly undersize dust cap with a little bit of epoxy to hold it in place. The epoxy is not strong enough to prevent removal when desired.

These tend to be specific to the make/model of the hub.

What do you have?

Not sure right now but probably an Asian brand and not Shimano. It is a Spalding road bike, probably an original 27" wheel. I see slight variations between two front wheel dust caps, though the slightly small size appears better than none at all.

You said axle, is the dust cap one of the type that presses onto the cone itself?

Like JohnDThompson said, these are highly brand specific, though often the same maker of hubs labels and sells to different brands even though the hub is basically the same. So again, what have you got?

I'd be happy to find a bin of various sized Shimano or Sunlite caps. I'll take a look for a label on the hub today.

Was happy to find a near match that doesn't throw my wheel off very noticeably. Took a look at the hub, appeared as "KJ Taiwan".
