Slowly...The cranks and headset have been reconditioned.....I haven't been in any rush...I think I may have either lost or thrown out the leather pedal straps I had bought which kind of stinks...I was in the middle of a move and they are now gone..They were white to match the cable housing on the bike...So I might have to order another pair.
I may get to it later today....The bike most likely will be completed by next Sunday though as I am leaving out of town for a while and I want to get it done by then.

Well I made some progress .. Got the bar wrapped in some Easton wrap.... Front brake back together and installed with some Kool Stop pads . . I also made a trip to the LBS as I lost one of the chrome ends that go on the end of the brake cable at the adjuster . He hooked me up with a set of aluminum ones which I actually like better as they stick out of the adjuster further and better support the cable...i just went to do the rear brake and realized I used the rear one on the front.. Didn't realize they were different sizes and the front cable is too long for the rear brake by about 6"! Grrrr, lol.... I also picked up a set of 10 different electrical tapes off of Flea Bay.. Great deal, only $13.99 shipped.. I will use these to finish off bar tape as I did here.

Well I just finished it up... It was a fun project... It was my first complete redo of a bike... The only things I really didn't do were the pedals or the hubs.... I ended up finding the lost toe straps... I think it turned out pretty decent... Bar wrap is so so bit it'll work.. It was only the second wrap job I've ever done... Handle bars may still be adjusted... I rode around on it in the cellar only being able to do a half turn on the cranks and it felt awesome! It was very responsive .. I can definitely tell the difference with the new freewheel and chain .. Now all we need it some nice weather! And we'll see how long those white cables and gray bar tape stay clean lol

Good job and good photos !!! I love the green as well and have my own rusty green Fuji to get to. I have some GB bars off a Continental I plan to use, and hope to find some 27" alloy wheels. I'd really like to have a green tall-frame (25/27") C&V Schwinn, even a Varsity.
Question to the experienced guys here - Is navel jelly OK to use on chrome & painted surface rust? I picked up a bottle on the cheap rack at Lowe's with the intention of using it on some very rusty chrome and painted areas.

Nice job on the Super LeTour. Love the color. I have a 76 12.2 in blue. One of the best riding bikes I have.

Awesome job and killer bike! Too bad it’s wait for nice weather for a lot of people. All these nice projects itching to get out!
best to read up on anything you use. Label or on the net. I’ve never used the stuff but heard NJ goes after only rust and leaves other surfaces alone. Can’t vouch for it.
IMO, that green paint wants a set of white fenders...

The bike looks great. I have never seen a green Le Tour before, but I like it. I don't know if it is the particular shade of green that I like or the fact that this is new to me.
This project is inspiring me to get working on my Le Tour Luxe, however, I've got projects and other bikes that go before it.
