Duneault? What is that?
Saw this ad and was impressed by the look of the bike. Not my kind of thing and too small but cool looking. Couldn't find a listing anywhere for it
https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...d5388f9c0b.jpg Ad says "$291 Chrome Denault its about 45 years old 10 speed 26in tire for sale." |
It looks like a very ice frame, winder what kind of tubing was used on it.
Maybe it a "Dunelt"??....English bike. |
It looks entry level me, with the stamped dropouts, Huret Allvit derailleurs, steel rims and nuttted hubs. I don't think there is any aluminum on this bicycle with the exception of the brake levers. Speaking of the wheels, they look like they may be 26" and that the bicycle was designed around an existing 3 speed frame. This would explain the cheaper side-pull calipers at a time when centre-pull was more common on 10 speed models. I can't imagine this being anything other than hi-tensile steel. The only thing going for it is a chrome finish in good condition, though one wonders if close examination would reveal an unpolished chrome from which the paint has been stripped.
As for the identity. Dunelt sounds correct, as they were one of the British brands purchased by Raleigh and this bicycle has what appears to be Raleigh dropouts. |
Sorry
Should have added link incase any one was interested... Bike in Peterborough, Ontario https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...69101570590818 |
Ridiculous asking price, even in $CDN.

I like the little stool on wheels. If that is included in the sale I'd say its a definite buy.
