Which Peugeot
 

Can anybody tell me, which model this bike is and in which year it was probably built? I tried dating the derailleur at Disraeligears but could not find it and I looked through the old Peugeot catalogues but could not find a bike with this checkered flag symbol behind the Peugeot writing (which I find strange since I though this was usual). I am no expert on Peugeot's. I am sure someone here is. My first thought is a UO18, however, there are no lugs! Steel rims and Simplex derailleurs, makes me think '70's. Graphics look more like '80's. Could this be one of the models made in Canada?

Could be the mixte version of Peugeot models like the PH10....

The rear derailleur is the bottom of the line Simplex SO/SP. The graphics indicate early 1980s. Best approach would be to post the serial number, from which we can determine the build date. From there,we might be able to narrow down the model. Bonus would be if it still has the paper label on the underside of the frame, which contains the model number.

Couldn't find any date for it, but this one in Amsterdam has the same graphics, crankset, bars, and brakes. Probably a Dutch version, guessing late 70's.

It has the basic features of a PX45 I just sold. Mine had the same plastic lights on SS fenders, but did also have alloy 650b rims (that had been mercilessly drilled out for Schrader valves) and had lugs, so was at least a year or two older than this one. Mine brought $300 as it was entirely original, but was a cheap 5sp bike so nothing like a PX10.
I got the PX45 designation from the frame sticker under the left chainstay.

I'm with T-mar, those graphics look like early to mid 80's to me. This fits the 'internally lugged' timeline pretty well, I think.

My earlier UE-18 (1972) came with the same fender setup, but with different light units attached.

Yeah, seems to be the same one, but mine only has a decal, not a plastic badge on the head tube. I bought it in the Netherlands, so maybe it's a "Dutch special". ;) Still no type name though, but it's not that important. End 70'S, beginning 80's will be enough.
