Hey all, I finished cleaning up a bicycle I actually purchased a while ago. A beautiful 88 Specialized Allez epic. Check out the video and please subscribe to my channel.

Beautiful first gen Epic!
You can tell it's a first gen Epic by the polished aluminum lugs. Which I think is the best looking of all the versions they produced as it had minimal decals to show off the beautiful, perfect CF weave on the tubes that compliments the polished lugs.
The later versions had the colored with a tinted clearcoat. I think the last versions even had them painted over same color as the frames tubes.
They first colored the lugs to signify the update that added insulating material between the tubes and the lugs to avoid electrolysis and corrosion that could cause the glue bonds to fail.
Bike should be OK as long as you treat it as a "dry day rider" only, just as I do with all my bonded CF tubed/Al lugged bikes.....
This is a bike that I'm always on the lookout for to add to my stable of CF C&V bikes. I would have snagged that one in an instant, if I happen to come upon it before you did!

Terrific video and a beautiful bike. Thanks for posting! I love lugged carbon fiber frames. I have two Look KG models of similar construction, although a bit later in manufacture. Not the most durable frames you can buy, but definitely a piece of history and lovely to look at.
