I am working on converting my Zullo from 8 speed Superbe Pro to 11 speed Campy. Going to go the route of silver Centaur. I have SR 11 speed on my Ritchey Carbon Breakaway and am a convert. Wonderful stuff.

Can you explain about the conversion headset? I am planning a rebuild of my Tesch S-22 (going the route of Campy SR 11sp) and would like to know more about this headset before committing to buying something. Currently have a silver DA headset and am looking at a Chris King threaded headset in all black. But this would still utilize a quill-type stem. Does your headset work with threads but convert to aheadset? Thanks!

It's a brilliant engineering marvel. It basically installs like a quill headset, but the top is machined to allow a threadless headset to be installed. https://www.innicycle.com/
Good luck with your build!!!

Zullo imo is a bit the overlooked smaller brother of Pegoretti. Very nicely made frames, bautifully (if not as extravagantly) painted, made by a guy who has built decades for the best and has forgotten more about frame building than most will ever learn.

the dark red / white bike is a "Time capsule" bike, one of a batch Zullo apparently built in the 70ies and had recently rediscovered in his basement or something. The pics are from the unfortunately short-lived "European Handbuilt Bike Expo" in 2009. And dont ask me, i dont know the story behind that awful Tektro brake

Bill Lewis was the importer in the early 80's.
When the bike shops wanted to stock up on Italian bikes they could send somebody over in a pickup and grab a bunch of frames, so Austin was full of them back then.
