I picked up an 87 Peugeot Ventoux that has a pair or Ultech clip on aerobars. After some googling I see that Dutch Concorde's often had some tubing or dropouts by Ultech but I can't find any info in the company. Can anyone out there enlighten me?

I picked up an 87 Peugeot Ventoux that has a pair or Ultech clip on aerobars. After some googling I see that Dutch Concorde's often had some tubing or dropouts by Ultech but I can't find any info in the company. Can anyone out there enlighten me? The irony of the situation is that I'm pretty sure this is the same design and likely maker of my first clip ons bought in 1990.

It was common practice for companies to market bicycles under a different brand name than parts and accessories. Often, they were separate business entities, as this offered some financial and legal advantages. For instance, Western States Imports sold bicycles under the Centurion and Diamond Back brands but marketed parts and accessories under their Avenir brand. Similarly, West Coast Cycle Supply sold bicycles under their Azuki and Nishiki brands but their aftermarket parts and accessories were labelled as Cycle Pro. (They would later sell off the parts and accessories business, bringing out a Cycle Pro bicycle but that's another story). Concorde and Ultech appear to be a similar situation, with both names being owned by the same parent corporation.
