My girlfriend says that if she catches me absently staring at something on the street she knows it’s a bike and not another girl. ;)

If we wind up in town after our move, I'm planning to find a townie trike as well. Maybe if we get 3 we can build 2 good ones out of them? Some of the ones I've seen look more than a little rough - from neglect more than usage though.

I'm pretty much at the ridiculous point now.
I have a Basso with a perfectly good and satisfying Shimano 600 group on it and I have no business touching it, but I am contemplating changing it over to an Ofmega group, which by most opinions is not nearly as good, just because it will be "Italian". Ohhh vanity!😢 I also might spend 50 bucks on plastic bar end caps and crank caps that are embossed with the Basso insignia on them. From Poland no less! Lord help me! |
bikeforums is my mental health break.
ridding is both a mental and physical health break Obsessed, no, very interested yes (or so I fool myself) |

Thinking on this one....you need to keep the basso as is and get a new bike with an all italian set up :thumb:

If I didn't have such trouble posting, I would seem a lot more involved. I get bounced frustrated and go do something else.... That may be a good thing.

In the vintage BMX scene there is uber obsessed guys with "era correct" which means they go as far as to make sure the break cables are the exact same date and matching to when the bike was manufactured. Now to me that's senseless but I have to admit I check KIJIJI every day hoping to find that amazing next score.

I find myself checking in here several times a day. I find myself wanting to go take apart a bike...just because. I find myself wondering when I’ll get to go for another ride. I find myself cruising eBay looking for parts I don’t need. I find that my thoughts are more consumed with bikes and learning all I can about them than other things. How bad do you have it? Tim |
I consider myself an avid cyclist and velophile but am I obsessed? Definitely not!

You say you have 2-3 other hobbies on the same level and don't tell us what they are? Shame on you.
But - Sweden is a small country. Low profile when it comes to flaunting what you have got is a good security measure. Bikes are safe to show. Other stuff - not so much. |

Recently I was looking on eBay at a set of Carlton brake lever hoods ( the black ones for the 70s era Raleigh Competition). I don’t even have this bike yet but I figure that one day I might, and when that day arrives I may want to have this extra set of lever hoods. I hadn’t made the purchase yet and when I checked earlier this morning they were gone, so I dodged that bullet. Those hoods weren’t cheap! Am I obsessed? just sayin |

I haven't bought a bike this year, until today. I didn't even want it but $7.50 was just the right price. It's is pretty good nick as well, apart from rust on the steel components.
I prefer to be called an enthusiast, bordering on obsession |

Let’s just say I’m bad, I’m checking Craigslist as I’m typing this reply. I work 24 hour shifts and when I’m not out on a job I’m on the computer. I recently picked up playing guitar and I’m starting to want more guitars. |
