Loaded up with the old new saddle
Unloaded with the new old saddle
This is is a 1984 Trek 610 sport touring bike. Double butted Reynolds 531 main tubes and Chromo fork and triangle. Full Shimano 600 group, chain stays JUST long enough for panniers. Those are 700x32 tires she’s sporting right now. For light tours this is perfect. The tubing is just enough for a light to medium load, it will flex enough that the rear rim occasionally runs the brake pad with a moderate load in the back. It’s kind of perfect.

One of the most versatile bike frames produced. I've seen them in triathlons, on centuries, in cyclocross, commuting, and used by messengers. The SUV of bikes, in a way.
