I took this pic while on a walk - that still counts, right?

Here are a few pictures from a ride I did at the end of September. https://www.bourboncountryburn.com/#what The colors had not started to change, but the weather was very fall-like. I confess, I was not riding a C&V bike on this one. Maybe next year, and I'll take something better suited for climbing. Overall, it was a great weekend.

Glenns Creek Distillery, near Frankfort, KY.

Thoroughbred colt came out to say "Hello".

On the way to Paris, KY

Bikes were welcome inside at Hartfield & Company in Paris, KY.

Bloemdaal aan Zee

The beach in Holland, one day ago. This is not the fall I expected in the Netherlands, but I'll take it. Look center right in the photo, to the right of the break in the dune fence, and you see our bikes. We forgot to bring a chain and lock, and so wanted to keep the bikes in sight. Here's a proper bike shot:

Merckx Corsa 01

I also posted this in the Merckx thread. Sorry for the repeat, but I'm enjoying this weather immensely. Sadly, I know that in a very short time my bike-riding resolve is going to be severely tested.

Unlimited, free trailside snacks this time of year. Some pretty good quality ones, too.

It was 15 degrees on Monday when I rode, so I'm not seeing the end of the riding season, just that the riding season is changing a bit. Going to pick up some studded tires soon and keep rolling!

While not from this Monday, here was a nice morning riding through the bike/trails of the state park on my way into the office a few weeks back -

I had the pleasure of an evening ride and brought the camera along. Gotta love the light!

This is harvest season still, so there is a need to get along with the other road users. Naturally, the vehicle with the most initimidating features has right of way.

just ignore the low speed on the 'puter....

a pleasant cruise along Hakes road in the fading light...

I love this time of year!

Celcius or Fahrenheit? It was the former when I took a late afternoon spin on my Tempo today and paused for all of 20 seconds to snap the sunlight backlighting the orangey foliage of some local mountain ash trees near the street:

These warmly colored earth-tone autumn photos always look so quiet, so serene. But as I was taking this shot, the dog of the house was absolutely FREAKING OUT IN RAGE-MURDER-KILL mode and the lady of the house was hollering over the fence with great alarm in her voice, "You aren't parking your bike there... are you?!" Mayhem and utter panic, 15 feet out of frame to the right.

Had a knee jerk reaction of negativity when I saw the first snow in Minneapolis last week. Then I pedaled around for while and discovered what a pleasant day it actually was.

nice shot!
It's not often that you see trees with green leaves covered in snow!
It might have been the same day that we had some snow flurries here in Illinois. Seeing snow fall when the leaves haven't even changed color yet makes you feel like you are being robbed of pleasant fall weather (as well as convincing you that there is some really weird stuff going on with the weather!)

I'd say that was worth the shot beautiful!

It was 15F. Coldest I've ridden thus far, but still very nice. The hardest part was figuring out if I was overdressing. About 15 min into the ride, I was sweating, but my feet were freezing (even though I doubled up on winter wool socks and work full leather boots). Could be poor circulation, but next time I'd like to get some sort of toe warmers.
