Tis but a flesh wound. If you're up to re-brazing that derailer hanger onto it, I've got the M-II GT to replace that one with.

Let me know if you're interested. Though, to be honest, it looks as if the main parallelogram of the RD is fine, Maybe it's twisted and I can't see it, but it's worth inspecting to see if you can replace the cage and continue on.

Thanks cudak, Ill keep that in mind. I am going to try and bang this one straight first. The derailleur hanger is obviously toast. I will cut it off and weld on another. While I have the torch out I will go ahead and replace the mangled stay bridges. I guess that means a repaint as well.

She lives.

I beat the derailleur hanger straight, and welded the hole up. Added metal to it to beef it up some then re-drilled and tapped a new bolt hole. Cut out the mangled stay bridges and brazed in some new ones. While I had the torch out I brazed on some cable stops and water bottle mounts. I got the derailleur cage straight but the bolt was irrevocably galled so I picked up a 1976 Suntour V-GT derailleur off ebay. Stripped the red/ ivory and went with silver blue metallic/ white rattle can. The MX bars I added to the original build a few months ago.

Here are some pics. The B-72 saddle in the pic is for looks only. It's a non rider I picked up from tiredhands (thanks again). I have a different saddle/ post I swap in for a ride. Be kind about the welds, I'm no Tom Ritchey. https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...0697910e49.jpghttps://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...f0da31ad3f.jpg

In the mean time I threw this together to see if I'd even like a Klunker before going to all the work and expense, I'm enjoying it so much I kind of forgot about the other one until just now. I've since put regular MTB 4" riser bars and a riser stem with more rise and less forward reach on it, pulled the bottle cage on the down tube, swapped the B-67 saddle for something less "bouncy" and put more pavement friendly tires on it since I don't trust the BSO frame off road but it is a blast to ride around town and on gravel.

This thing keeps getting better looking with every incarnation. That blue is gorgeous.

Great job!

Looks like a fun ride. Agree, the blue is very nice.

I really like that blue. It is beautiful. What brand rattle can did you use?

The Blue is Duplicolor Avignon Blue a Honda color. Three light color coats, three coats clear. It polishes out well but just be warned, it takes about a week to fully dry.
