Tour de French Fender Day 2018, for the uninitiated.

The 2017 version was a blast. Quick recap: flew from Portland, OR to JFK, train to Jamaica Station where @rhm, @nlerner and friend Bob met up with me. Got off at Mastic Beach, Long Island, rode to Rudi's, spent the night at a motel, rode to Montauk next day, Friday was a ride to Orient Point, LI, ferry to New London CT, then ride to a motel in Old Saybrook, CT. Saturday was FFD at Peter's, Sunday was a ride to Boston with Neal and Bob. Tour de Boston with Neal, saw a Red Sox playoff game, bus to NY and Rudi's office, then back to JFK and fly home.

2018 will be a similar whirlwind adventure for me. I'm flying out tomorrow at o'dark hundred to JFK again, train to Jamaica Station, meet up with Rudi, off at Mastic Beach. From there the two of us will ride up to Jamie Swan's framebuilding shop and see his wonders, then back to Mastic Beach. Friday we'll ride directly to Orient Point to catch the noon ferry to New London, then ride to Old Saybrook. Neal and Bob will train from Boston to Providence and meet up with framebuilder Brian Chapman and a few others, then ride directly to Old Saybrook. Saturday, FFD, Sunday and Monday Neal, Bob and I will take a somewhat leisurely 2 day ride to Boston, where I'll meet up with some friends. Wednesday I'll bus back to NY and fly out in the evening from JFK.

Bikeflights and the Long Island Railroad will be utilized to fill in the gaps.

I know of several other BF'ers that plan on coming. Post your plans and pix here!

Someone referred to my plan as "The C&V Triple Crown". Friday, four of us are riding the Farmington Canal Trail from near Plainville, CT to Westfield, MA round trip. Saturday I'm tire kicking at FFD then driving out to the Cape. I may go explore the relatively new western extension of the CCRT. Sunday morning (after wacking great pancake breakfast) we ride the CCRT from the West Dennis trailhead to Wellfleet, MA round trip. Then white line fever home.

Going to drag along my 1974 Crescent 92319. I've ridden this bike on the FarmingtonCT before and it's just great. May not see very many others like it at FFD. Even Peter was interested when I told him.
