Trek paint bubbling

Its on the top tube brake cable brazed. The previous owner had some acid sweat goin’ on.
I’d like to take care of it and possibly move it on, as I have bikes I gel with a little bettter, but I want to de rust it first.
I’ll post up somebody pictures, but I’m waffling between a dremmel brush, or an OA bath...

Double, double, toil and trouble
Sweat does drip and top tubes bubble.:)

When I do touch ups, I use a little piece of fine sandpaper. 400 grit. Then use Testors model paint. Usually two, hand painted, coats.

I don't use a wire brush because the scratches from the brush will go beyond the small chip that I want to clean up. In your case, if it is a braze on that protudes from the tube, you could carefully use a brush.

I picked up an '80 Trek 410 frameset (had parts that made it a 412) made with wonderful Ishiwata 022 tubing. Paint bubbles on the top of the top tub and chains stays. Orange rust in the lower portion of the inner top tube, which I should frame save. [Note that the frame was hanging inside a non-profit bike shop for the better part of the year before I picked it up recently--nice and dry place, hanging near the ceiling] No rust in the stays or down tube--clean as can be. Weird. I should put some Frame Saver in it. Love the very dark blue-grey metallic paint color. Waxed it and even with chips and paint bubbles, it looks great! Headset polished up and cleaned up well, though it took a little work. It is currently my "lowest-end" frame and completely superfluous, but I didn't want it getting recycled or going somewhere where it wouldn't get the care it needed. $25 for a pretty thing that I think still has life. I've wanted an Ishiwata Trek, if for any reason but to see how it rides--classic geometry (nearly identical to my '74 Paramount) and all.
