Winter Project #1. Mercian.

Old and new.
C&V Mercian frame with a Shimano 105 drive, and Tektro brakes. Matching Blue Brooks Saddle and bag.

Thoughts??

No immediate changes planned, except for a bottle cage.

Went on a couple of short rides today. Trying to get the final handlebar and seat adjustments right .

I will need to add the bottle cage and take a nice, long ride to fully test.

I know very little about Mercians. This frame feels lively and comfortable thus far. And I love the patina!!

Maybe a rear rack? I have a couple of Blackburns, and maybe a Vetta.

Mercian is still in business making steel frames by hand using traditional hearth brazing: https://merciancycles.co.uk. Their frames and craftsmanship are top quality I've ridden mine steadily since 1988. Set it up any way you wish and enjoy!

Ah, this reminds me that I have my own blue Mercian winter project frame. I need to start a thread to motivate myself...
