Reproduction Huret Duopar tabbed washer

I've had a test sample made, and the fit and function are good as the original (tested on my personal Cannondale). Before I have a batch made, who would be in for one, or more if it suits you.
If 10 are sold, the cost would be $25 shipped each, 20 sold would come to $23.00 each.
Pm me if interested.

Huret Tabbed washers for Challenger, Success and Duopar

They were used with Huret Challenger, Success and Duopar RDs.

I put together this Flickr album a number of years ago. Click on the pictures and scroll down for explanations. The silver ones are for proprietary Huret dropouts and claw hangers. The black ones are for Campy style dropouts.

Thank you for the clarification. I did neglect to mention the placement is for the Campagnolo style dropout. Although I could do one for the Huret style also if I had a sample.

Bump. Three so far. Anyone else?

hazetguy 12-15-18 07:36 PM

bumping this for a couple reasons:
-the Huret claws I have for my DuoPars use the Campagnolo type tabbed washer.

-I picked up a couple "lesser" Huret derailleurs. One has a Huret claw that uses the "Huret Type" tabbed washer shown above.

@nesteel : I'll be happy to loan the Huret tabbed washer if it would help with you reproducing them. Send me a PM

Any more interest here? I would love to have a few, both for Huret and Campy.

Yep. The huret style tab will be here soon, then I can offer both styles.

Great! I have a Motobécane with a Huret dropout, but all of the DuoPars I have use Campy style washers. Keep us posted, please!

I'll be mailing the Huret type washer to nesteel tomorrow so he can reproduce them.

Thank you both! :giver:

I found these on eBay with little effort. The first will work with any Huret set up and the second will work with a Jubilee set up for a Huret drop out or clamp-on hanger. I made my own adaptor from a brass key. I drilled and shaped and then bent the tab.

Oh gosh I did not realize this. I just picked up a damaged Raleigh competition with huret jubilee derailleurs. The rear drop out is a huret so this RD isn't going to work on a campy drop out without this $46 kit. LOL.

That's the thing about old bikes . . . you learn something new (and expensive) every day. :)

Nice finds. But they are for a different generation of derailleurs, it seems. The ones we are discussing have a dropout-specific washer that mates to the derailleur body, and the adapters shown in the links don’t look like they will mate as needed.

Any update on this?

The Campy dropout style has been fully tested, the Huret style will arrive soon and can be tested out.
The Huret sample will be sent back to its owner shortly.

bikemig 05-08-19 09:49 AM

Remind me what this is for? I'll bet I can think of a reason to buy one if I knew . . . :)

TenGrainBread 05-08-19 09:52 AM

I am in for buying one of each when they are available.

hazetguy 05-08-19 10:12 AM

I'm not in a rush to get the washer back, so no worries there.
Because of the pic I posted of the Huret tab, I've been asked a few times if I had any or knew of any more and I replied that there were some being made, just hadn't heard what was going on with them.

Older Huret rear dérailleurs used different tabbed washers to enable the derailleur body to fit the two main (Campy and Huret) dropout styles. They are hard to find! So making more is of interest to those of us with DuoPar and Success derailleurs.

I'm not following too well. Is this offer for washers for Duopars still open? I totally missed it in 2018.

So today was Huret rear derailleur day in my workshop. I have three of them:

1. A Huret duopar with the tabbed washer you are talking about. This is for a campy style drop out. I think also this should work with a simplex drop out once you tap it out since it has it's own stop. By the way the tabbed washer in pics 2 and 3 really belong to the Huret Duopar (not the Jubilee or New Success).
2. A Sachs Huret new success rear derailleur. That tab is built into the RD and can't readily be replaced. I think it too could work with a simplex drop out once you thread it as it too has a stop.
3. The one I'm interested in is a Huret jubilee. No tabbed washer. This was made for a huret drop out so it won't work with a campy drop out. Is there a way to make it work with a campy drop out? I'm thinking this one is going to become wall art.

File the Campy dropout to match the Huret stop.

lol, wow that's pretty radical. I think I prefer to keep it as wall art.
