I got a new camera so i took a picture of my hatchet- its a Jay Haide - "Guadagnini" copy - and it plays way better than I do. (note the non C&V bow..)

Sweet-looking fiddle! Iíve read good things about the Haide products, @jetboy. Iíll try to post a decent photo of my Eastman Strad, and perhaps my old Czech Strad. I reset the Czech fiddleís soundpost Friday. Only took a half hour this time!

I was inspired by you and took a look for some old fiddles to practice restoring... be fun to try my hand. But looking for something I can pick up for $50 but has half a chance of sounding ok when I finish. slim pickings around here. probably have a better chance if I hit estate sales and such.

Sage MUSKY Fly Rod Blank 1190-4 MUSKEY | MudHole.com

Building an 11 weight Sage "Musky" fly rod from a blank this winter.

Certainly less expensive than a prebuilt and I can customize handles and guides.

Bring on the bruiser northerns and muskies next summer.

Looks really nice, great work! I looked in to making one a while back too, but in the end decided to buy one from Moviestuff. I used it for a while to make a bit of money (a very little bit) but now have it to digitize my own film. I don't shoot much Super8, it's silly expensive but I do enjoy it. What camera head is that on your telecine?

My other hobby besides softball coaching is kids photography that I started last year - well, at least my kids playing sports.

Got a bit into 8 mm film a couple of years ago. Hence my avatar pic.
But mostly just to watch and edit the old family films, then get them transferred.
I like these old Swiss machines.
Bolex 18-5 - standard 8, on top
and an M8 , which I found complete and near mint. It sounds like a turbo jet taking off when you fire it up.

very nice bolex. I was into 16mm for a while and had a couple projectors I liked to use in projects. I loved just getting old films from junk stores and salvage places- some are amazing and many have never been digitized. So you are seeing something truly unique.

I still have my kodak pageant. Common model but like bicycles, sometimes they are common because they were so good. still works great!
