What @gugie is referring to here is UNCANNY RESEMBLANCE between a Legnano head badge and one I created for an old Japanese bike boom bike I had sneakily painted the iconic Legnano colors. Look closely and try to spot the fake:
(Hint: the one on the right is not available from VeloCals.)

You gotta have a Legnano first, or risk being banned.

Looking at VeloCals website, there is nothing about the legality of using their decals on bicycles that aren't the same brand as represented by the decals. You would think that some "we get out of jail free" statement by VeloCals, putting all the responsibility on the decal purchaser, would be present on the site, if a prior issue of misrepresentation had happened. I'm not an expert, just curious interloper.

And what about the issue of mis-branded team bikes, where someone else builds them, but the builder puts the team decals on them anyway? That's really deceptive, since the public sees pros riding them during races, on TV and in cycling fan magazines.
"Hey, this isn't a Huffy! It was built by Serotta. I want my money back, I thought I was buying a 'real' Huffy!

There are those that argue that it's practically not enforceable. Yeah, and one plastic cup left on the beach doesn't hurt much. Doesn't make it right. The real fear is that enough people decide to rebadge bikes using Velocals decals, and Velocals starts getting trademark lawyers telling them to stop making decals, and they either go out of business, or decide only to sell to legitimate frame painters (which used to be the case BITD). That'll affect all the DIY'ers out there, it'll lessen Velcal sales, possibly enough so they decide it's not worth doing it anymore.

OK, I know I'm being an SOB here. I apologize in advance. But if I have a Univega, that was built by Miyata, whose decals would I be allowed to put on the bike during a re-paint? Univega only? Miyata, since they're the ones who really built it? Both? Or neither?

Didn't Merckx ride a Colnago with Windsor branding in Mexico?

I can't decide which thread has been more entertaining this week, this one or the "triggered" one.
Maybe we should demand that xetaprime put a stipulation in his last will and testament that the bike either be destroyed or converted back to a Trek after his death.

Oh but there is. You don't see until you're checking out, and you can't check out unless you agree to it. I posted a screen shot earlier in this thread. I'll repost it here:
