Cino ‘19
The announcement you’ve been waiting for: Cino is back and it’s going the full Monty!
I have agreed to take over management of the event (with the creator’s blessing and guidance) and I can assure you we are on.
When? September 6-8 (I’m adding a Friday night social event).
Where? Kila, MT to Hot Springs, then back the next day (we may seem like the middle of nowhere, but that’s actually Glasgow).

WTF is Cino? In a nutshell, it is an honoring of times gone by, when steel was king and roads were awful. Steel is still real and our roads haven’t gotten any better. But the comeraderie and spirit of the attendant enthusiasts cannot be greater! Check our webpage for history, pictures, and apparently my phone and email still up for the whole world to see...

It’s really the people who make the ride so special, and I need more than two hands to count all the cool BF people I’ve met in person.

Yeah, we can go as the Merckxsey Twins! Though I doubt either one of us would be comfortable riding 80 miles (or whatever it is) in gravel on tires that'll fit on those bikes.

This would be an interesting Twofer: Cino this weekend, and the Coppi event in Wisconsin the next weekend.

Fantastic! The year Cino disappeared I had already rearranged the entire family vacation schedule around the ride and was sorely disappointed when it didn't come off. We made other plans and still had a great summer, but there remained that ache for something I felt was special and was missing. I am going to do my utmost to try to get to Cino 2019 (and I definitely need one of those jerseys!). Good on you mountaindave for picking up and carrying the torch!

Did that drive last year the first weekend of March after multiple snow storms closed the high line. And left in a snow storm - fun times. I thought mountain snow storms were bad, but they’re nothing like the plains!

I'm going to be sorely tempted to do this. What's the altitude on this ride? Just checked, looks to be around 3,000 ft for the beginning and end of the right which isn't bad for someone coming out of the flat lands of the midwest.

Correct, it starts at just under 3000’. My GPS tells me 2,800’ of cumulative climbing each way, most of it gravel.
