I went once and came away with an unusual bike (Romet - Polish, I believe) I parted out. That netted me a first gen SR rear derailleur (and a few other parts I still have) which landed on my Redcay. So, that one trip for me was worthwhile. Of course, that was probably three or four years ago. They aren't still making vintage bikes and parts, so I'm sure the pickings get slimmer each year. Still, it takes one's mind off the cold and snow for a few hours.

Definitely not going as a vendor ($95/table), but may go to shop, as it can be there in a little over 3 hours. I may add up the tolls/time and see if it's worth a shot.
Right now, with Central Indiana's at 11.25/table, that's on my radar, scoped down in range for better clarity.

I always find good deals on stuff at Harper. There isnt always a good selection of vintage. I thought about getting a table to sell there. i have in the past. Its getting harder to sell stuff there. Everyone wants **** for free.. lol

Agree on the boat/dune buggy option. I rode Chicago's Lakefront Trail from its northern terminus to the Loop and back this morning (28-ish miles r/t from my house in Evanston). While it was a nice ride, there is a lot of snow melt crossing the trail. By the time I got home, I was completely filthy from the knees down, despite the fact that my Schwinn Speedster has front and rear fenders.
Despite the mid-40s temps, there were lotsa people out walking and running today. I even saw one woman outfitted like an elite marathoner. I hope she was running fast enough to stay warm.

Good for the beater fixed gear Schwinn, sans fenders. We've got messy wet excess salt on the road shoulders that's especially corrosive. I could easily scoop buckets of it from the curbs as the road dept. salt spreaders certainly went overboard with it.
No biggie wiping the bike exterior but its the spraying into bearings that will need attention in short order. I have cartridge hub bearings on the Schwinn and a heavy dose of grease in the headset and bottom bracket. I don't worry much about brakes on this bike and spray heavily with WD40. The poor thing stays outside in the cold so as to minimize condensation -warm cold cycles.

I sold enough to pay for my table (charged for 2, got 1), the corral space, hotel room, breakfast, lunch and gas.
Plus maybe $20. It's all good. My Tupperware bin at one time did floweth over. No longer, that's good.

Also, yeah, I definitely saw a younger guy running shirtless with short runner shorts. Chicagoans lose their minds anytime the weather breaks above 40 degrees in the winter.
