I also had a super bigly crush on her in the late 70's and 80's!!

Ooooooooh baby baby......
Sad that she cannot sing anymore because of health issues.......

Really hope she gets better and sings again!

Despite the fact she sang on it, I didn't realize for years that "Under African Skies" (my favorite track on Graceland) was Paul Simon's ode to Linda... Too bad she posed on skates and not a bicycle on an album cover from that era.

What a beauty and talent in 1978.
Her version of blue bayou is one of my all time favorite songs. I would say she's one of the exceptionally few people who can cover a song better than the original composers. Roy Orbison, the Eagles, Smokey Robinson, Buddy Holly etc.
Side note, Roy, Buddy and Don Henley of the eagles (who originally wrote desperado) are all from Texas.

So 70's, and 80's, and 90's..... she brought it.
Her live stuff with Little Feat, Warren Zevon, etc is for the ages, she had a knack for connecting on stage with many other artists and sounding like she'd always been with that band. Lowell George said she was "a good listener." Which, from him, meant a lot.
Her Spanish album and the Nelson Riddle stuff showed her range.
She was a flat-out singer, all there was to it.
One of her early back-up singers had some good stuff, too: Nicolette Larson.
