Not selling, Im buying, or shall I say, bought..
It has been in and out of several 'distribution centers' since the 31st of Jan. Last update was on Feb. 2 and then nothing.. I was hoping that it was on its way into the US and would update after some time, I gave it till now to 'hopefully' arrive, yet still no update on the tracking info. It is arriving through USPS, if it ever does.. Im reading so many horror stories within Russia customs that there is a serious chance of it getting lost due to different reasons. So I was hoping maybe someone on BF had some experience on this matter. Im praying nothing goes wrong..

Don't panic. I had the same "no man's land" with a pair of wheels from Spain about 2 weeks ago. It's almost certainly a delay in U.S. customs as was mine. It took four days to arrive in the country and another four weeks of languishing on this end.

I wonder if the gov't shutdown played a role... or is it always this bad?

If it's being shipped and tracked via USPS, keep in mind that tracking is often very slow to update. It's not as real-time as oops and fedex.

Not bikes, but several cameras. 2-3 weeks is ok.

Finally got an update! It is now being processed by US customs, thank goodness! Now just the waiting game. I am glad that it has left Russia without any setbacks. Lets see how long US customs takes to process this.

Glad to hear that.

i visited Turkey once and bought a Turkish rug, of course, but it took months to get to me through the mail. I was worried, but the carpet shop assured me it was just their customs holding things up, and I would soon receive my rug. Well, they were right, it arrived finally and all was well. I'm not sure if some countries use their customs as a political weapon, or they are just truly inept, but I know that I now rarely criticize our mail and customs.

Not that this helps but having shipped a few things to Russia books and bike parts it typically takes 5-6 weeks for standard shipping channels for pier to peir packagers maybe more with goverment customs partial shutdown,

With all due respect,

Chernobyl is in Ukraine. Ukraine is not Russia!
Your comment might as well have been ".....unless the bike happens to have originated from.....maybe......Fukushima??"

So now that you've located your bike and the mystery is past, are you going to finally tell us what you bought?

I think in another thread I mentioned what type of frame it is. Its a NOS Columbus Minimax frame. Easily become my grail bike. Only downfall (if its even considered a downfall) is that its 126 rear spacing. Did my research on my options and found out its still possible to have 'modern' components with 126mm spaced frames..plenty of examples here on BF. I want to build a wild build with this one. A whole-lotta' new/old parts will be used. I need to get a tune-up for my other bike (sold my Zunow ..) so that I can ride that till I finish the build. It wont be a 1-2 week process. Giving lots of thought on the parts so Im thinking Ill be done in a month or maybe longer. Regardless, Ill post pics when it arrives. Im super excited, as it is in NY being processed by US customs.

OH! I can’t wait to see this. This is not the bike I am thinking of, that is a Bianchi, kind of odd two frames coming from Russia about the same time You don’t see a lot of MiniMax frames.
