I came across some pics online yesterday for a Rossin team Shimano. One of them had mostly 105 parts the other had older 600 parts. It seems to me with the colors it should be 600 tri-color parts. Does anyone have any info on this bike?

Most Rossin bikes, especially during the 10 Speed Driver era, were available as frame only and "kit" was available with some options on rim type, saddle, bar/stem etc. It was possible to buy a SLX custom painted frame and put RX100 on it or CroMor with C-Record.

Do these bikes have decals saying they are team bikes or replicas?

Those are Shimano's corporate colours representing the sky, sea and land. While they appeared on the 600 Ultegra (aka tri-colour) group, their history goes back much further and they can be associated with any Shimano group. The frame itself appears to have an orange banded Columbus decal indicating Aelle and no older than 1988. The absence of chrome and a front derailleur hanger are consistent with an Aelle frmeset. The panelized colour scheme is also consistent with the very late 1980s. Rossin may have offered the same scheme on higher level frames but this one appears to be circa 1988-1989 and Aelle. It's very attractive.

As noted, many of these could have sold as framesets and built using various groups to suit customer preferences and price targets. However, this is one case where it would be ill advised to build with Campagnolo, as the frame is decidedly Shimano flavoured.

Can't say whether the OP depicted is a team livery or correct Shimano parts, but I do recall some team having Rossin and full Shimano (likely D-Ace) as sponsor. Suggest to dig the archives on that one.

Anyways, its not uncommon to see Japan's finer top line components on Italian frames.

I get it that today's collector seeks 'full and matched' group but in reality back when, it was rare to see.

It was about what worked the best, light in weight and not about outfitting matching Gucci.

We were sponsored by 10Spd Dr around '90/91 and had a deal on Geurciottis, some free SL and low cost others, but most got fitted with 600 and or Dura Ace.

Thanks for the info everyone. I would still like to see a advert for it weather magazine or brochure but there doesn't seem to be any on the web. If someone has it please post it so I can see.

I have a cast off Rossin frame stored away that needs a new paint job. And a complete Tricolor groupset, this sounds like it would not be out of the question for compatibility appearance wise without offending some nitpickers.

I have been searching and can only find the 2 I mentioned. There is another one on Velospace.org but the pictures will not come up. Looks like that's it.

Yes, the paint job was known as "1982 Team Shimano" paint job however there wasn't any professional competitive team that used those colours I am aware of. However lots of teams raced Rossin's even the 1982 7-11 Team rode Rossin's. Since I never got to ride this I kind of forget I had it, albeit for a few short months. The seller improperly measured it and it was too big. Great colors though
