What if the A were to remain and a new alpha-character be added with each change, as if learning our ABC's all over again? Or NOT...

You mean keep the whole alphabet in the same thread? I like your thinking.

If I edit the first post it lets me edit the title, so it should work.

But how will you know when the A's are all done? Actually, you know they never will be done. Someone will buy something and want to post it here....

No, I suggest someone start another thread for another letter.

Hmmm...I guess if you need to go back and look through a particular letter it's easier if it's in separate threads rather than trawling through ~100s of pages.

I wouldn't call Carlton owners a 'cult,' exactly.

Better start a poll.

Oh but of course if you do that, people will complain that you didn't ask the right questions. Hmm.

Start with a poll asking what questions to put on your poll, and then....

Yeah. Can't be too careful. I suggest we form an exploratory committee to formulate and parse potential poll questions. Maybe you and me and Noglider and VonRuden and... hmm, that's already a bit heavy on East Coast influence, better toss in maybe AndyK and one of our So Cal contributors for balance. Robbie and one (maybe two?) other Rust Belt guys. Oh hey, if we include Seedsbelize and Narhay we've got Central America and Canada covered, eh?

So we can all get together and work on the wording and cant of the questions, and maybe decide, once formulated, to include each question in the final poll only by passing with 2/3 committee members' votes or simple majority? Or maybe by a best-of-seven playoff series in a major sports arena. That would be fun. Sell tickets to fund the whole thing, get a television contract, sell lots of ads, give the whole thing a catchy name, for marketing purposes...

We'll call it the Super Poll.

You ought to hold off on those until the threads get started for them. The OP said he's going to do one for every letter in the alphabet.

Patience, my son. Patience.

Wow that's going to be a lot of threads! But I guess if all the letters were together it'd just be the 'show us your bike' thread .

I purchased the green one from a seller in CA who had bought from France. I can’t recall if from the Bay area, you can see pics of it on reneherse.com here -
https://www.reneherse.com/AlexSingerracer70s.html

The Black 650b Campeur was in Douglas Brooks collection and the gold one came from France as well by way of Scott C in Arizona. HTH
