Japanese home-market bike catalogs are a hoot, there are numerous bikes similar to that Sekine.
And, Campy even made an appropriate shifter forcawhile--the "Elefante."

If that's a quote, I don't know the reference. I like riding in The Bronx more than I should. It's got enormous variety and even more of a reputation. I find a lot of vitality in the neighborhoods and parks. There's a good chance that I'll be riding to Orchard Beach and City Island tomorrow. It's a NYC version of a seaside fishing town.

I have an opportunity to buy this bike. It's being sold locally and seems to be in good condition. It's one of those bikes you think you want but you know you won't be able to get rid of after because it's so.... unique.
