What will she say when you come home with the white Competition from this time frame? According to the photo you still need one of those.

Yes!!! I have been researching this series for years, and have NEVER seen one in person! I think the price point must have been such that people paid the slightly bigger price and got the Prestige. The Competition is MY Unicorn.

Recently acquired Single Speed convo (yeah, kind of a shame). It is, however, one owner and possibly the nicest non restored frame I have seen. .

What size do you ride? Tough to tell from where I'm sitting.

I see a pair of '84 Grand Prixs, one '84 Super Course, the '85 Grand Prix and what I believe is the darker blue '85 Super Course.

Since someone already asked where are your Competitions, I'll ask where's your Prestige and '86 "wannabe-Miami Vice" models

Isn't it nice that you can throw just about anything on these frames and they always wear it like a million dollars?

-Kurt

There was a fellow here in the Cincinnati area who had a white Competition he was trying to sell last fall. Not sure what your size is, (I think his was about 56cm) or if he sold it, but I can try to contact him if it will help/hurt.

The Prestige is 2nd in. It is unfortunately the one with the worst chrome, and has been swapped over to STI (albeit DA). In regard to Miami Vice, this Tinley's on the way (it's going to be harder to convince her that this was something "I've had for years").Truth be told, I was interested in this one, because a good friend of mine used to ride a similar bike, and now has some terminal stuff going on. In talking to him about building one for him, it became clear he was super not into that nostalgia.

The 54cm is ideal, but my original race-day bike was the '84 third in. It's a 52 cm. It was a little tight, but felt good at the time.

have you considered telling your wife "but honey, I'm conducting important research! I'm trying to determine whether red really is the fastest color." ??

Better start scribbling some notes on the clipboards to make it look realistic.

There's this one. It's been on Chicago CL for quite a while. I can pick it up and ship it to you.
