Spotted at tradesday.

These strange brakes were on a old Schwinn. The bike was very entry level looking and didn't interest me but I don't ever remember seeing brakes quite like these. |
Rollercams, you should have bought it if the price was right. Now looking at the fork, it was probably a Cimarron.

Suntour, says so right on the actuator plate. Black chrome frame. |
Those are Suntour XC Sport Roller Cam brakes. The design was by MTB pioneer Charlie Cunningham. They used U-brake mounts but a very different mechanism.
The bike was not entry level. The lugged unicrown fork, black chrome, and Roller Cams were specced on High Sierras and Cimarrons in the mid-80s. So it was either Schwinn's top tier or 2nd from top tier MTB. |

Well I went back up there and that vendor has already left. He will likely be back next month with the same stuff. I'll try to check then.
|
Could be one of these High Sierra bikes.

Those brakes are sought after.

Hmmm... I have them on an old Cannondale. If it is just the fork, that could have been swapped. if it is the fork and frame, then it would be original.
They are not compatible with later canti brakes, unless, perhaps you change wheel sizes. |
