Go Moulton! Thanks for posting! I read the whole article, being a big Moulton fan. One of these days I'll actually get one... This was an interesting transitional model: in between the original F frames and not a full space frame like the later (and current) Alex Moultons.

You're welcome! You might like to know that the Aug 1970 issue had a short teaser article about a 12,000 mile road test of the Moulton "Marathon".
The article states it is the latest of the Mark III's and similar to the prototype, the main difference being the "Marathon" used a Fichtel and Sach's two-speed automatic rear hub.
This set-up included a backpedal brake, 2 sprockets, and a double chain ring.
The road test was expected to last 10 months and started June 1970.
If an article was written once the test was completed and I can find it, I'll post it. If not, I'll post the teaser as it does have a photo of the "Marathon" and some preliminary information.

I was the custodian of a mid-60s Moulton Stowaway for a few decades. I was very fond of it although it was not a good fit for me in any way. Eventually I was able to give it to the original owner's son where it more rightly belongs.

I love these C&V reviews, thank you @SpeedofLite! Keep 'em coming!

You're welcome! And thanks for posting the color photo of the Moulton. It's a shame Bicycling! didn't have many color photos in their early years.
One thing I've noticed about BF members is there are so many different interests represented among us and that others' passions are somewhat infectious.
I never thought I'd want to own a Moulton or similar folding bike a year ago, but now I'm thinking a bit more about it.

+1 to new interests! I hope you find the write up for the further trip.

Thought it strange that a throughly British article would use fender in its description. Aiming for a future American market?

I'm on my way home to NH and changing planes in BWI. My folding Dahon is in the suitcase and it flys free on Southwest Airlines. I highly recommend a folding bike for travel and vacation. I managed to ride almost 200 miles over the 9 days. A vintage folder would be nice but I doubt it could fit in a regulation suitcase.

You're welcome!
I just put the stuff out there without any preconceived ideas about what will be well-received, contentious, or ignored.
Otherwise, I think a lot of the content could be lost to time and we all would not have had the chance to enjoy it.
I look forward to the day when someone recognizes him/herself in a photo and posts something like "HEY, THAT'S ME! I HAD NO IDEA I WAS IN A MAGAZINE!"
Now that would be so cool.
