Don't Be Afraid!
This aluminum fixed cup was not budging. It deformed in the bench vise and I came close to bodily harm with the channel locks. Never mind that extreme chain suck gouge. I heard that steel production frames are over built. I'm not sure where this is going but I understand that powder coating will fill that in. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...957692ba9e.jpg Easier than a seat post. https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...c87dc7b8b0.jpg KHS Montana Pro fz. |
If the gouge is deep, powdercoat won't fill it... especially if the coater is one who takes care not to bury details.
Don't be afraid, though... after media blasting, fill the gouge with JB Weld and sand it smooth with 600 grit. Then it will disappear under powdercoat. |
If the paint doesn’t cover it the triple will |
