The cotter pins have obviously loosened off, as the crankarms are about 15 degrees out of alignment with each other.

You are all great and very perceptive, missed the miss-aligned crankarms.

But yes it was mom's shoes.

I'm not sure whether to commend you for keeping your eye on the bike or whether to question whether you are focused on the right, ahem, details. . . .

I wouldn't notice something like big feet, as they're the norm in our household. My wife wears size 12 and my son wears size 15. On short chain stay bicycles, his heel can contact the rear derailleur when in the smaller cogs and cause it to jump out of gear. As a result, his current bicycle is hybrid, with sufficiently long chain stays.

Aside from the eminent threat of getting her spike heels caught up?

Her gearing is all wrong for that mountain!

But she is using the prototype biopace crankset

Where on earth is she headed? Into a pile of rocks?

It's like she's standing around in her mom's heels, with a city bike, in the middle of a downhill mountain biking course, waiting for Danny McAskill.

I noticed that her right toe looked suspiciously like a cartoon bird's beak.

And that the bike's skirt guard appeared to be superfluous.

Also, that there is daylight appearing in the middle of the mountainside?

She's unapologetically appearing as a model, so the high heels seem appropriate. Had she been presumed to be a rider, one might anticipate a wardrobe malfunction of the sort that, who knows, might be deliberate (recalling such from last year on the bike trail through Folsom).

Those heels are not an issue, as she's wearing the prototype SPD pumps for the dual sided SPD-platform pedals. The production version of the shoe is black and added a toe cutout for increased ventilation.

anybody who can climb mountains like that, in heels, with a smile on their face is a cycling BEAST.

Trying to ID the bike.
She's smiling, so we can rule out Takara.

Prototype or not they still disqualify her from Eroica
