I'm going with Nishiki. Here's a shot of mine taken at Crescent Beach, one of the stops along the route on our ride this coming Saturday. Glad you can make it.

Glad you can make it; the weather still looks promising for this weekend. BTW, if you want to also pack along your recent Super Course acquisition, you can set it alongside my '72 SC to compare frame geometry, if you like. Mine's a size up, but I'm not sure that makes a difference on the head tube angle under discussion on the tread you started on your bike. Comparing pics of the two, the head tube angle on yours looks a lot steeper, but I dunno if that's just a camera thing.

Indeed, working the weekend - plus dental surgery first thing Monday - will be sure to put in some miles/km's Sunday around Vancouver/Burnaby to make up for what I'm missing out on (in some small way), but unable to join y'all. Will have to sneak down to the Peninsula for a bit once I can string a few days off together again - either before or after the big Eastern WA/Palouse country cycling trip I'm plotting for September...

Unfortunately there will only be room for one bike in the car. One of these days I'm going to have a receiver hitch put on the Honda.

On a side note, I ran into some minor problems with what I thought was my only ridable vintage road bike.

Will anyone be too offended if I rode something slightly *ahem* "vintage inspired"? I assure you it's steel and has enough fork rake to fit in with any French crowd.

To ride or not to ride, that is the question, whatever it takes, ride.

Nothing Heroica about this ride; anything goes. We discourage e-bikes, though.

First pic of the weekend: early arrivals @Random Tandem and @Andy_K took a twilight ride with me up the Webster Woods outdoor art gallery. I rode Andy's crazy polka-dotta KOM Serotta (far right).

The Nishiki performed well, 33mm Gravel Kings did great on the rough stuff and still rolled decent on the highway. Luckily there wasn't much of that, only got buzzed by one pickup. Got the frame and crank from forum members.

Thanks to everyone. That was a very enjoyable ride and we couldn't have had better weather. Next time I'll be sure to bring something more C&V (and be sure to fasten my bag pockets, lest I lose another phone)

That's too bad about the phone. Now I don't feel too bad about losing my mini-pump the same way at Cino a couple years ago.

Here's our small but convivial group at the start of the ride. L-R: DylansBob, Caveman, AndyK, droppedandlost and Random Tandem.

Not fillet brazed but a very cool vintage (early 70s?) Schwinn World Voyageur ridden by Will @Random Tandem wins the "Parts Bin" Award as well as the "Grubbiest Bike" Award. I think Will and I have the same philosophy about cleaning bikes. His has just been built up longer than mine.

Random Tandem and @Dylansbob at the first of many strictly enforced mandatory photo op stops; a viewpoint looking down on the Elwha River from Hwy 101

A few random photos...

The Caveman and Will surveying Canada on Friday evening.

A view from the bike as the group rides away from me. (No, really, there are four cyclists in this photo.)

Mandatory photo stops were observed

The "little" mermaid of Crescent Lake (caption credit to @northbend)

A walking bridge on an excursion we've skipped in past years

Stopping for more photos on the bridge

I am so envious of you guys last weekend! And no rain for the gravel section, apparently.

Even if I’d been feeling strong enough, my wife’s mishap resulting in a badly sprained shoulder last Monday would have prevented my attendance.

1974 Schwinn World Voyageur in Kool Lemon (with yellow Fixie Pops), also won "most yellow bike" on the 2019 Port Angeles Metric Century. I had a great time on the ride and look forward to many more. Thanks, Caveman, you are the host with the most!
