That looks fantastic! You should be able to tell which are stickers vs. decals by the feel of them. The decals should be much thinner and fragile than stickers; as old as the bike is, decals should just flake off with little effort while stickers would want to peel off in larger pieces. Velocals should be able to help you out.

A nice find - glad you got it. Check for date stamps on the top of the rear derailleur, back of the crank arms (probably none there if pre-1973), and the hub lock nuts. I'm guessing it's a '67 or '68. The crank is 144 bcd which started in 1967, and Universal 61's would have been superseded by Super 68's in '68.
Nuovo Record rear derailleurs only had “patent” stamped in 1968 and 1969. 1967 had “patent Campagnolo” and 1970 had “Patent-70”
My bike also has a red dove with a red border on the oval for the Columbus tubing decal. This decal was used from 1962-1968. In 1969 Columbus changed the decal slightly, showing a red dove with a gold border for the oval.

Selle Storica Saddle Sacrilegious?
Hi all,
would it be sacrilegious to put on a new “vintage” selle storica on my Frejus? I was thinking of using an older used brooks, but I like the idea of putting an Italian saddle on an Italian bike I also thought that since the bike is getting refreshed, it should get a fresh saddle too.
Let me know your thoughts!

Progress!
Hi,
I have made a bit of progress on the Frejus. I Still need to polish up the stem and bars, as well as the hubs and rims. Also waiting for cables to come in from Serbia, and tubular tires to come in the mail too.
I replaced the “Frejus” decals on the down tube, the originals were in awful shape, as well as the championship colors decals on the seattube. These came from VeloCals and the quality was great. Unfortunately, I also replaced the decals on the fork with another company in England, the quality isn’t quite as good.
I decided to get the Selle Storica saddle, and I think it looks awesome on the bike! I think it will match the amber shellacked white cotton bar wrap I have planned perfectly. If not, I also have a brooks professional I can swap it for.
Overall, I couldn’t be happier with the bike and how it’s turning out! I can’t wait to finish and ride it!

I just can’t stop staring at it, my wife is getting jealous! Haha. It ended up being a good mix of old and “new”. I installed new “vintage” cable housings from Serbia, a new “vintage” Selle Storica saddle, new reproduction Universal brake and adjuster hoods from Italy, new shimano rear derailleur pulleys to replace the original cracked 9 tooth campy ones (still have them, def not throwing those away), replaced some of the destroyed decals from VeloCals (but kept the originals that were in decent condition), new KMC chain (but still have original Everest in good shape!), some NOS Christophe special large cages with new Christophe repro leather straps, new Newbaum white cloth tape with two light coats of amber shellac, and new Vittoria tubular skinwall tires (still have the original tires too). Everything else is 100% original to the bike, including the original beautiful paint! (But, I did do a few minor touch-ups).
Took it for a quick spin late last night, it rides beautifully! I just don’t want to hit any hills with those monster chainrings! Haha!

Nice restoration! Stunning looking bike, and I am not surprised it rides nicely.
I know what you mean about the gearing. I am replacing the OEM 14-22 freewheels on both Siegers with 14-26 on one, 14-28 on the other, just as I replaced the 6-speed 13-23 on the Bianchi with a 6-speed 14-26. Having that 26 available below the 23 makes all the difference on some hills.

Now I have to figure out how to get them on . My handlebars have too narrow of an internal diameter for them to fit inside the tube, so I think I’m going to have to unravel my wrap a bit, place the gaslos on the outside, then cut the bartape to length and rewrap and touch up with shellac.
