Show Us Your Bikes Starting With G

Here's your chance to show us your bikes alphabetically!

It goes like this: every fortnight I'll start a new thread with a new letter in alphabetical order. Post your classic and vintage bikes that correspond to that letter, eg; C = Cinelli, Carlton, Ciocc. M = Mercian, Masi, Motobecane. And so on and so forth. The letter of the fortnight should correspond with the marque, not the model. For example; you could post your Tommasini Prestige in the T thread, but not in the P thread. If you're not sure, take a look at the word on your downtube. There's a grey area with people's names - Bruce Gordon, Claud Butler, etc., but I'll leave it up to the owners which thread is preferred. Make sense?

So let's see your Gordonsons, Guerciottis and [insert popular Taiwanese bike manufacturer.]

Greg Lemond (BF hasn't seen this one yet)

Gitane (there was a thread, it was a while ago)

I also have a beater Craigslist 80s gios torino (?) with sliding dropout plates and a lot of rust that I can't seem to find a picture of.

And a Gary Fisher while conversion from a half dozen years ago.

And a Gary fisher MTB wearing Cinelli stickers.

Hmmm... I was debating this but since the Greg Lemond "door" has been opened above I'll post mine here now also. I'll save the trek era Lemonds for the L thread.

First is the 1989ish Ventoux. Made with Cromor tubing and sporting a Shimano 8 speed setup. This is one of my plushier rides thanks to the cushy bar tape, Brooks saddle, and 700 x 27 Veloflex tubulars. Actually had it out today for a chillin' 30 mile ride.

Old setup:

Out today:

Next is the Maillot Jaune, Columbus TSX and Campagnolo 8 Speed. A real favorite of mine for how well it reacts under you.

I've got a pre-Trek Gan GLX too but it's branded "Lemond" so I'll save it with the other Lemonds for the L thread.

Yep, as mentioned in post #1 , when the marque is somebody's name it's up to the owner which name gets posted in which thread; G for Greg or L for Lemond. Having said that, I don't want to see the same bike in both G and L - just pick one and stick to it. (But it's only an internet forum so all I can really do is shake my fist.)

Trek era bikes get posted in L. Ten speed drive era bikes are G. Just my $.02. You won't see mine in the L thread.

The modern, third, incarnarion? I haven't looked at the branding closely enough to have an opinion.

I really only posted it to balance out the weirdness of the gitane boneshaker. I stretched, whoops.

I know you’ve shown that one before, but what is the wheelbase? Looks longer then a Trek 720.
