Faggin questions

I just got a Faggin frame from ebay and it seems to be the real thing. I know it's not in the best shape but it was affordable and I love the retinato paint. The BB has "0" stamped on the drive side and on the other side is "56" under that is "1055" and under that is "T". It also has bottle cage bosses on both the down tube and the seat tube. The pictures are from the auction. My questions are......
1- what model/year would this be?
2- what tubing should it have?
3- Is it English or Italian threading?
4- What groupset would it have come with? It has Gipiemme dropouts.

This one sold on Ebay about 5 years ago. The tubing decal was Columbus Tretubi. I read at the time that many of these were sold to bike shops as framesets, then built up however the shop chose. This one had Shimnao 600 EX from 1986, I think. The threading is Italian.

I found an old headset and BB in my junk box off a Japanese bike. The top nut threaded onto the forks so they must be Japanese/British threading. As for the BB it slipped right into it without threading so it is a larger diameter. I have one cup off of an old Bottecchia frame and it threaded right on to both sides of the BB.......Italian thread?

I dunno. I have a campy italian headset that will thread onto my standard steerers. And standard freewheels can thread onto hubs with italian threads.

Isn’t the cup marked with the threading size? Can you feel or or see the reinforcing ribs in the bottom of the down or seat tubes?

With the Gipiemme dropouts it is likely Alle level or maybe even TreTube.

If you never had Faggin before I suggest building it with whatever you have on hand and ride to see if you like it before spend a lot of money on components

The cup has no markings on it inside or out.
There are no reinforcing ribs in the tubing.
I plan on using what I have to start but would still like to know what was original.

Faggin made )makes) quality products, even the "budget" models had pretty nice elements and high end construction, and since they are still in business you can even contact the "factory" which I believe is run by the daughter (Cristina?) of the originator, might help to write a bit of Italian (but have heard they are helpful with polite questions about old product):

Italian threaded for sure, not a big deal for the HS since "English/ISO/JP" will all fit adequately but you'll need an IT BB unit.

Here's one I owned a while back.

Frame was TreTubi with Suntour Sprint components.

Great bike, a blast to ride. Too small unfortunately.

Check the seatpost size. Mine also has Gipiemme dropouts and is marked Columbus Tretubi. It takes a 27.2 seatpost so that would likely make it a SL main triangle. Weight was around 4 pounds for a bare 56cm frame. Italian bb thread.

Well as mentioned this was likely sold as a frame only so “what is original” is anyone’s guess.
