Looks like one of the later post bankruptcy models. It could be a later bike made by an unrelated company after when the name had been sold off, like today's' Motobecane'. Could even be some euro only model I don't recognize, or some unrelated bike with a decal. What it isn't: a vintage Motobecane sold in the US in the 70s.

Looks to me like one of the “inexternal lugless” models they had in the early ‘80s. The color doesn’t look familiar but I am fallible. Could also be a repaint, or non-US model as mentioned.

Might be a euro model but aligns with about a 1984 Nomade with inexternal brazed 2040 tubing (US model) but graphics are a bit different...maybe because it's a Canadian model?

After 1981, when Motobecane went bankrupt and Lawee dropped them, they really pretty much disappeared from the market. I worked at a Motobecane shop, and we dropped them. Replaced with Bianchi and Fuji. Pretty much everyone else did the same. Must have been some who continued to carry them, but I don't remember any. It was a very rapid fall. I'm not sure who picked up distribution.
It may have been a completely different story in Canada.

Motobecane seemed to trundle along for a few more years as "MBK" after Yamaha acquired them but those bikes were only rarely seen in the US. In any case I think $175 CDN is a bit steep for THIS Moto even tho it looks sort of clean and complete...in my book the outstanding feature is the pair of Superbe pedals (but not worth paying $175 just for those!)
