Need help identifying frame please

I received my first Tommasini a couple days ago. It was purchased thru Ebay and the guy selling it stated it was not a Tommasini but a Viner. I bought it as a donner for another project. I do not believe it is a Viner. After reading Kevindale's post "Tommasini timeline and serial numbers" it might be what he called a "cost efficient" Tommasini. Can anyone elaborate more on what that is? I'm pretty sure that's PC for cheap version, but I believe he also said that version was non US market?

I can not find any serial numbers anyplace on this frame. The paint seems original, at least not painted over another finish. The color is kind of a coral, or salmon shade of some kind with no metallic flakes. It weighs in 18 lbs. as pictured.

Nobody can tell me anything about whether this may or maynot be a Tommasini????

I’m no expert, but it doesn’t scream Tommasini to me. If the seller was up front in pointing out that it wasn’t a Tommasini, then it probably isn’t.

I’m surprised to hear Tommasini did ‘budget’ frames! I always thought they were high end only.

Without any serials or panto’s it’s difficult to come to a conclusion, and I don’t know anything about Viners to give any comment.

All that aside, looks like a nice frame. Would you say mid to late 70’s?

I’m still trying to get my head around the 18 lb. weigh in. Looks like it could be one of the many Billato frames that were built and sold under other brand names.

My thoughts exactly, with respect to posts three and four.

Contractor built and a repaint? That's a pretty odd color.

I don't understand why you would buy a donor bike off ebay with a 600 group. I could understand buying something with a more unique group like a Mavic or a complete Zeus but vanilla 600?

Why not a 600 group? No it's not Mavic or Zeus, but ,,, so what, it's still a quality reliable groupset. The parts are in excellent condition. In my geographical area it's hard to find anything that's not corroded or damaged beyond what I would want seen on my bikes. Most bikes around here in my price range are Cannondale or Trek. I have 2 bikes that are full Campagnolo. I also have one with a full tricolor groupset that rides just as well. And one with......GASP!!! 105,,does that make them not worth using??? This 600 set may be "vanilla" in your opinion but vanilla is good from time to time.
