I am a failure at downsizing (Lemond Content)
So, I've had several rides listed locally as I try to downsize my collection. One was my Lemond Tourmelet that was a 53 cm and a tad small. It finally went to another very happy rider Wednesday night. Whew, more space. Then a Chamberry showed up in the local ads and I've always wanted to try one the aluminum frames. So, once again I'm not freeing up any room as this one came home with me.
Probably have to switch it from the TT/Tri setup to road but got it for a fair price I think. 10 speed Ultegra brakes, FD, BB, and crankset with a Dura Ace RD. TA Specialites chainrings, Thomson Stem, Shimano bar ends, Cane Creek headset and brake levers, and Profile Design bars and seatpost. The wheels are Mavic Cosmic Carbones SSCs clinchers. I also got a Lemond standard seatpost with it. Cleaned it up a tad last night and the paint looks really good for this era of a Lemond. My 2000 Zurich has really soft paint that's all marked up but this in a lot better shape. I'm going to give it at least one spin as it before I decide what to do with it. I'm having to sell my Prologue TT I was building up since I just can't ride it comfortably since separating my shoulder in a wreck. So doubting I'll be able to ride this in it's present configuration either. Anyway, one pic from how it was last night when I brought it home. https://pbase.com/jhuddle/image/169416562.jpg The Lemond it replaced. https://pbase.com/jhuddle/image/169146777.jpg And the mentioned Prologue TT....just for good measure. https://pbase.com/jhuddle/image/169180597.jpg This Chamberry is no where near as aggressive at the TT so maybe I will be able to ride it. |
Good luck James...
I have to learn how to get rid of stuff... even when I have people offering to take stuff away... |
Seat post is bent. jk
Enjoy! :D I'm eyeing a Croix de Fer. |
The one bike I was sure I was going to put up for sale last night, is a 2002 Lemond Zurich, with Ultegra 9 spd, 1/2 silver 1/2 metallic blue, Rolf blue anodized wheels. I think it's ungainly looking with 3ttt forgie stem & fork stub sticking up too far, and those brifters with the shift cables sticking out the sides...Ugly to my C&V eye.
I decided I should ride it before I posted it. Only fair, right? (I've been riding 3 regularly, 3 others occasionally, this was the first time this season for the Lemond, and the first time since March for brifters.) Awkward, always reaching down... :) Dang it's a smooth, easy bike to ride. And the ugly seat I put on it last winter, to sell- was very comfortable, over 15 miles, NO sciatica. Woo hoo... So I didn't list it. I'm going to go out on it again right now. I have to deleverage... I've got wheels in the bathtub, for Pete's sake, I have to move them every morning.:( |
