The chrome is coming out even better than I had hoped for. And it turns out that the front derailleur is Dura Ace, not 600 like I had assumed.
Also, when I took off the grab-ons, check out what was lurking beneath. The alloy handlebars are PIVO...but forgive my ignorance as I'm not sure as to who else used these. I can barely make out France. I'm sure someone will let me know! :speedy:

Interesting frame from the "later years" of Windsor when they definitely were sourcing Tange cro-mo tubing for SOME models, and a lot more Japanese components as this one sports, but given that those appear to be unstamped GPM (Gipiemme) dropouts I would agree that it could be some flavor of Columbus tubing(as Juvela mentioned). I'm surprised with the (looks like) bulge-formed fork crown, despite the chrome it cheapens the package, I think. If you take the fork off see if there's any markings on the steerer. And such a weird mix of components (Japan, Italy and France!) I wonder what of this gruppo is OEM and how much is "custom" by the PO...?

Brand names are commodities, to be sold and bought , now Bikes Direct has an Asian contract factory ,
putting Windsor and Motobecane on frames and building the bikes they sell .. to you..

lots of 80's brand names have been sold.. its just Business ..

There have been other Windsor badges in the past which were not a case of private labelling.

Two of the nations which produced them were Gaul and Nippon.

rode a DeRosa made custom track bike, on that high altitude velodrome, to set a new Hour record,
It wore logos for Windsor , a local sponsor ..

Now that Mr Merckx has his own Belgian Bike company that Italian made frame
has been repainted with his company logo ..

and is displayed in the front office ...

All done. To bad that it's to small a frame for me, but I'll keep it for a while as eye candy.

Now that it's finished...what would be a good estimate on its value? I'm tempted to sell it locally.

That really has turned out nicely. I would think a $300 - 400 price would be reasonable in the New York area. Check your local Craigslist for similar bikes to cross check. If you do decide on a sale, perhaps consider the Classic & Vintage for sale area here to reach a specific audience of enthusiasts.

Thanks [MENTION=297217]bertinjim[/MENTION]. I'll give it a try here on the New York Craigslist...possibly even Facebook. I do not want to take it apart for shipping, so a pick-up will be needed. And yes, this will certainly limit my audience.

Like I said, it's just to bad that it wasn't a taller frame. I never see these here on Long Island for Sale, so this was quite a surprise when this one popped up, and being a one owner bike was even more of a surprise.:)
