Ashtabula black magnesium parts

Does anyone have any ashtabula black magnesium parts? looking for a stem and a 7 1/2 inch crank for my 51 panther straightbar,and my 41 dx frame builds im doing.

Bikes: 4 Old school BMX, 6 Klunkers, 5 29er race bikes, 4 restored Sting Rays, Now 3 vintage steel bike being built up

Those are BMX parts from the 70's. Try BMXmuseum.com. (Note, they are made of hardened steel)

Ya i know there badass steel i had some back in the day on another clunker i built 53 straightbar, schwinn BFG bike

I suppose that you could also get a more commonly available chrome plated Ashtabula stem that is less desirable because it may be rusted. Then sand off the rust and sand the chrome enough to get primer to stick to it then paint it black.

I think you are talking about the ones that were painted flat black.

The black cranks are everywhere... look on Craigslist for kid's bikes.

They are a special forging from Ashtabula. they were quench hardened, resulting in a black finish, rather than conventional polished and chromed.

The specific black crank O.P. is referring to, was a special 190mm long crank arm designed for better starts in BMX races before they had start ramps. They are around, but not near as common as the generic kids bike parts and Schwinn Scrambler.

Oh, yea, that looks like some serious stuff. That might actually be rare. Not the flat black finished parts that I had thought it was.
