Formal apology

It seems I owe the mod team a formal apology. Here it is.

For all the distress I've caused you over the years, I am deeply sorry.

in my years I've gotten 1 warning. I called a member a jerk for dissing a newbie (forget why the diss).

I don't apologize - the guy was a jerk!

edit: but then I would not wish to be a moderator.
So in a manner of speaking, Hats Off!

I was chastised once, for dropping an f-bomb I believe. They pounced on me like a pack of dogs on a three legged cat.
I got over it and I think they did too. They've got a pretty good work load to keep track of.

Oddly enough, it was posting a picture of a shotgun that got me chastised........

Ha, I just saw a huge three-legged cat, about a week ago. He looked pretty "feral" alright, but he behaved pretty well, for a big bite of roast beast. 😎

This thread flashed me back to my days at Bikecology, where I worked to supplement my meager income as a grad student teaching assistant. The owner had a "General Confession," which was assigned to a different employee each day. Anything that went wrong that day was that employee's fault. This kept the mood light and cooperative and stressed the need for teamwork, for taking individual responsibility, but, at the same time, covering for each other as needed, instead of endlessly passing blame around.

A line of dialog from 1982(?) movie Cannery Row...

I got reprimanded, officially, for agreeing with a newbie, who got upset and publicly blamed me for his leaving Bike Forums. He was a member for about two days. As for me, I did not get over the unfair reprimand. I always try to be helpful and nice but some people, I honestly believe, come to the Bike Forums just to cause trollble.

I think arguing was the intended word rather than agreeing, but as you're Canadian, I might be wrong.

I once got a slap on the wrist for using the R-word. Describing one of my own bikes.

Good thing I'll never need to discuss timing issues here while talking about cars with old-fashioned ignition systems.

I haven't been punished or admonished here yet. But I have been barred in perpetuity from Classic Rendezvous. So I guess I'm not a complete failure.

Cannot fathom someone getting upset with your replies, or posts for that matter. I have to agree with the statement following, and I see what you did there too

Timing issues--agreed! Plus the word has normal, not-aimed-at-humans definitions and connotations (like obviously within the automotive realm). But whatever. We have physical and mental thesauruses and can communicate a similar point just as effectively using other words.

Good Lord; you, of all people?

Gotta be a story behind that. Did you kick down one of their rock cairns, or something?

Also, Hi Bill! I was just recently thinking about you.

A couple of days ago I wore, for the first time, that yellow and black Cannondale jersey you gifted my a couple years ago. Unfortunately, it fits me now.

(It was quite a bit too large for me when I first got it)
