Anyone recognize this Panasonic MTB?
As I picked up the Méral I'd bought, the seller showed me this Panasonic MTB, also for sale.
Now, I'm not into MTB's, but the seller said it is rare, and as it looked interesting I tried to ID it. To no avail. I found the forks easily enough, but not the frame. What is it? https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...3af08ed8ea.jpg |
It kinda looks like a Pace, but a little off. The dropouts aren't right, and fork is wrong too. Pace made a bike very similar with a bolt together fork, but the fork legs were not inline with the dropouts. That's more of a Tange switchblade style fork, or actually is one.
Good parts regardless, buy it if it's cheap enough just for the XTR. |
Thanks, wesmamyke. The fork is a Tange Prestige switchblade, as far as I can see. Seller is asking €250.

Looks Al, with some sort of crimped tubing. XTR - including headset, Switchblade forks, are those 737 pedals? I'd have bought it on the spot for the parts alone
|
Those are XTR M900 parts, along with a Panasonic-branded Tange Switchblade fork, which puts it squarely in the 1992-1995 range.

We're used to Panasonic being so spot-on in both the technical and aesthetic aspects of their builds. Those welds just throw me off, though I adore the fork.
