Not sure how I double posted, but I managed to.

Nice build, what rear derailleur do you have on it?

imabeliever1 07-17-19 07:46 AM

The derailleurs are some species of Shimano Deore. I probably got them at a swap meet back home in Texas. They do look pretty sweet and it shifts like “butter” as some say.

Great looking, that is cool color almost a little Fujiish

Looks perfect for a "Texas dirt road".

That was the case, but I am now in the hills of Kentucky. Still works , but I am running lower gears. Will prob drop the big ring from 52 to 48.
Hills here have caused me to stop riding fixed. It was just too tough for me. So my one time fixed gear is now a Sturmey 3 speed :)

Those of us in mountainous or big hill country - who are not Superman - share your need for appropriate gearing. I always have a triple at the ready.

edit: I was born in Louisville. What part of the State are you in?

The Vine Grove area.

My folks had farms around there -- Ditto or Brown, mostly.
Not that you stroll gravesites.
Mama Brown had the first 'party-line' switchboard in Vine Grove off the lobby of her large boarding house. She knew all the town's gossip.
Stanley Ditto (my grandfather) was a plumber/farmer who put indoor bathrooms in many of the homes. Later to own a Louisville plumbing company.

small world story

That is a great story and really small world. Thanks for sharing.
