Well done. Is there a way to list the blog posts for those looking to browse to a specific catalog, once they're all up?

Yes, there is an archive page that you can view and search the previous posts. https://classicfuji.posthaven.com/archive

And since it's a new week, I've posted the 1973 catalog as well.

Thanks Kurt!

Thanks for starting to fill in where Bill Reavis left us Scott. Being a Fuji fan myself Bill's page was accessed frequently. I'm just wondering why people don't just have the catalogs available in pdf form? At least that way they can download them and save them locally as well. This would hopefully prevent situations like we experience with the passing of Bill in the future. Heck I have my own URL and would have been more than willing to offer the pdf versions to all comers. Plus, they could have been loaded up to Velobase.com too. I've already scanned and uploaded my Suntour pdf'ed catalogs to Velobase for all to enjoy.

Thanks Don!

Don't forget to check out my Fujita saddle blog as well .. they are so closely associated with Fuji. Somehow I'd like to get this connected to Velobase in the future.

Last year I restored a 1975 Fuji S10 and even went as far as using a period Fujita saddle that is essentially NOS. Rode it for about five miles and had to buy a new Sella Anatomica X2 to save my butt, ha ha. When I sell the S10 I will install the Fujita back on it for originality indeed.

Ya I hear you!! I never liked the Fujita Belt much, a broken in Fujita Pro or Brooks was certainly better but eventually switched over to a Brooks Cambium to ease the daily pain.

Thank you let me know if there's anything else you need. I'm up to 1975 on my blog, I add another year every week.

Cheers,

Scott

I wanted to add my thanks as well. That's a great site and a fine resource. I remember reading on the classic fuji website that Fujis without serial numbers were imported right around 1970 or right before the first catalogs in English came out. Is that right?

I have a Fuji Finest without a serial number and so I'm guessing it's from right around 1970.

I think it might be a little younger than that, the earlier versions had a different fork crown. Did you check the rear left drop out for a serial number rather than under the BB?

Cheers,

Scott

No serial no. on the BB or the drop out but the fork crown pretty much answers the question. Thank you.

Just an update. I've completed uploading all the catalogs from the Bill Reavis/ClassicFuji collection to my blog, 1972 thru 1991, plus some earlier Japanese domestic and international catalogs. Bill stopped at 1991 and I can't remember why but his reasoning at the time made sense. 1992 may not seem "classic" now but in ten years we may think differently.

https://classicfuji.posthaven.com/archive

What do you think, should I continue into the future and add additional years?

Thanks for the input.

Scott

Bikes: Wow, where to start? A collection of 1980's and early 90's road, touring, and MTBs from the likes of Trek, Schwinn, Cannondale, Fuji, Miyata, Univega, Panasonic, and GT. It has gotten rather out of control.

Thank you so much for doing this!

Additionally, I would always welcome more information being published. You never know when you may be the only person with the information AND the ability to publish it!

Thanks Scott! I think this might look better than the scans that were on ClassicFuji.com.

Those are the same scans I received from Bill Reavis although I did tweak them a bit in post processing. And I've been pleased with how Posthaven accurately reproduces the images.

Cheers,

Scott
