Help identifying Ciocc frame
 

Hello, this is my first post here. I bought few days ago an Ciocc frame and fork. It looks very good but it misses some identifying things and I can't be sure what model and what year is. I also had an email exchange with Pelizzoli's son and he confirmed that is a genuine Ciocc made by his father.
Currently the frame is equipped with Shimano 501 headset and 36x24T Shimano bottom bracket.
I could not find any serial number anywhere.
The rear fork is chromed just on the chain side, like San Cristobal.
On the toptube, near the headtube, there is no clover.
The clover is present under the bottom bracket.

There are some pictures with the key zones of the frame along with my other Ciocc, EasyRider Carbon. :)

I'd say it's a Gran Sport or Sprint, based on the Aelle tubing, but yours doesn't have the crimp in the chainstay, like the catalog models. My mystery Ciocc had no decals when I got it, but I figure it's a Competition SL frame, as there's only chrome on the chainstay (also not crimped) and the tubing is consistent with SL (i.e. 27.2 ID). Looks like a nice bike, though. And it's my size... :D

Found one identical with mine on ebay. It only say that is mid 80's Ciocc frameset, nothing more. But all the details are exactly as mine, even the missing crimp in the chainstay.

So, what's the inner diameter of your seat tube?

Is 26.8 mm

Sorry. I just now checked your photos, which clearly show Aelle tubing. Doh! That will eliminate higher end frames/models. Should still be a good-riding bike. :thumb:
