A bit of an overly-positive review, but a good look at how the '77 model updated itself from the previous years.

I'm surprised he brushed off the freewheel failure though. That's a catastrophic failure on a bloody new bike.

I was thinking they gave the Regina Oro freewheel failure short shrift because it wasn't innately Schwinn, but wondered if using a Shimano chain had anything to do with it even though the function was improved after switching from the original Regina Oro chain. Otherwise, did Regina Oro freewheels have a history of pawl failure, or was this just an anomaly and unfortunate timing?

I think if I provided a bike for a road test I sure would want to tag along and be ready with spare wheels, etc if only to ensure a situation like this one could be resolved quickly. It almost seemed like that was the case here. Otherwise, it was quite a coincidence the shop owner was on the same road at the same time and behind the road test!
