There is a frame similar to this one on Los Angeles Craigslist near 90210 🤗

Speaking of "not bothering to try" as a theme here, my friend Neal and I putted and clunked around Seattle's crumbly NE-of-downtown roads for 45 minutes in search of the perfect wall to serve as the backdrop for some proper photos taken by a very nice camera that was operated by someone who knows what they are doing (compared to my hapless-by-comparison iPhone pictures). I paid him in 7400 Dura-Ace bottom brackets and some other components. He gets the credit for the excellent brochure-level photography, and I get credit for building up the bike, pulling it out of the hatchback, and setting it up against the wall. I think the results are stunning. Please enjoy!!!

None of these photos have been altered in color. The day was overcast, with near-white cloud cover. Little did we know that the forecast rain later that day would turn into an absolutely epic Midwest-rivaling thunder and lightning storm.

Look at that Cello Tape texture! BRS 300 levers getting the glam shot they deserve as well.

The S is where it's at.

As much as I'd like to post all the photos, I will restrain myself. I may end up putting this in a Flickr album.

These are Suntour Edge shfit levers, believe it or not. Shining nearly as beautifully as Superbe Pro!

MONEY SHOT.

Probably one of my favorite photos of the bunch. How incredibly fortuitous, if mischievous, is it to have "Dura-Ace" perfectly framed in the dropout window on a Superbe Pro build!

Traditional down-the-line brake caliper shot. Still looks good.

Neal with the killer between-the-cages shot of the "Japan" decal at the base of the seat tube on this can't-get-any-more-red Allez SE.

As an epilogue to this photo shoot, I can now free myself to ride this bike as designed because I don't have to worry about keeping the brake tracks perfect for a camera session. I now simply need to dodge rain storms and I'll be good. I even have red, mesh-backed cycling gloves now--Benotto tape ain't giving me anything, that's for sure!

Great build, always love early Specialized stuff. You've got me inspired to start building a red 62 cm Piaggio-Bianchi for my brother, very similar ride with a 600 Arabesque groupo.
